Anyway somewhere in all that chaos I did manage to get this card done.
This is my first Christmas card so far this year. Last year by this time I had already completed enough cards to send but since Christmas last year was a bit of tough time for us in so many ways I've had a hard time moving past that to focus on making more.
The deer was cut on my Silhouette with an image from the Silhouette store using some mixed media paper I had smooshed with Candied Apple Distress Reinker & Inka Gold which was spritzed with water. I cut the deer twice more from red cardstock & stacked.
Very pretty up close but a little hard to photograph so hopefully the second picture shows it a bit clearer. The PTI Stars were stamped with Delicata Gold ink & then I finished with a PTI sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.
So one Christmas card down & dozens more to go!
I am entering this into Inkspirational Challenge #112 Anything Goes with Red
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.
Really stylish and elegant Christmas card, great job! Thanks for joining us at Inkspirational!
ReplyDeleteRose, I hope you're feeling much better after having such a rough go with a cold followed by your back acting up. Sending 'gentle' hugs that you're on the mend - and staying healthy! I second Nonni: your deer is chic and elegant, especially with the red/gold colour and lovely shimmer! Stunning! I'm sorry that the setbacks of last Christmas are so profound; I can relate, based on the experiences we had with my dad over the Christmas season of 2014. He passed away on Dec. 30th - my parents' 56 Anniversary. Christmas will never be 'the same' for me again, so I continue to 'figure out' what 'way' it will be. Making Christmas cards has been great therapy, but it doesn't take the underlying sadness away 100%. And that's okay...You'll get to a 'place' - in your own time and own way - to realize the joy of the season once again! Sending more hugs - and remember: you have people who truly care about you, in your life and here in blogland! Thank you for sharing your creativity in the Inkspirational 'anything goes with red' gallery!

Striking and so elegant, Rose ... love how the gold stars seem to be tumbling from that prancing deer ... it's gorgeous with the inca gold/red mix! Do hope you're feeling better by now ... looking forward to seeing more of your creativity, when you get the chance! Hugs, Anita :)
