Hugs

Hello

A quick post today to share a card that I made for the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 364

I used the daisy & some leaves from Winnie & Walter's In Bloom: Addies Garden. I stamped one flower then masked before stamping the other and then masked both to stamp the leaves. Flowers & leaves were coloured with Zigs and I used some Black Diamond Stickles in the flower centers for a little shimmer & dimension. The word is a digital element from Winnie & Walter cut twice on my Silhouette and stacked before adding Wink of Stella. Finished with a coat of Glossy Accents.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We are once again in for some wild, wet weather but on the up side my daughter flies in this afternoon for a couple of days so I'm off to finish preparations.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit.

Lovely day

Hello

Sharing a card today that I made with some watercolour scraps.

I cut a white wreath on my Silhouette with a design from the Silhouette store and snipped off the attached leaves as they didn't work with what I wanted. Using the watercolour scraps I cut some leaves from Paper Smooches Foliage 2 & 3 and flowers from some Elizabeth Craft dies. I softly ink blended a circle in Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink and then layered the wreath, leaves & flowers. The flowers gave me an opportunity to use a variety of sequins I hadn't used before as the flower centres. I finished with one of my favourite sentiments from SSS.

Vellum flowers

Hello

When I saw that "text" was the word prompt for Inkspirational Challenge # 110

the first thing that popped into my head was using the text stamp you see on my card below.

A very obvious choice I know but this has been a much loved stamp in my stash for over 10 years. So loved in fact that the image has totally worn off the wood block lol. I chose to softly sponge a masked rectangle with Spun Sugar distress ink before stamping the text in SSS Smoke ink. This could have worked as well as a one layer card but I chose to cut (leaving a small white border) & mount the stamped piece with foam tape for more dimension. Either way would work. I cut 2 Memory Box Geneva Vine in vellum & coloured the backs of just the flowers with Worn Lipstick Distress ink before adhering lightly in just a few places allowing the flowers to lift a little. The sentiment is from SSS Your Birthday.
I know the raised panel looks slightly crooked in the photo but in actual fact it is perfectly square & aligned. One of those tricks of photography I guess I have yet to master.

I thought I would also enter this into CAS Mix Up June Challenge

I have used Stamping, Die-cuts & sponging.

You amaze me

Hello

So today's card is outside my comfort zone on so many levels that I'm not really sure what I was thinking lol. I initially wasn't going to post this but bit the bullet anyway. Firstly I'm not really into creating scenes even simplistic ones like this which is probably obvious when you see this card. Secondly I used digital stamps (FishScraps) for the first time and printed the images on Ranger Watercolor Paper using my laser printer. That in itself was a bit of a gamble as I wasn't sure it would work on that sort of paper or how it would hold up once wet. Thirdly I used Molotow masking pen for the first time (bubbles) but using smaller images wasn't so bad if it failed.

The printing on the Ranger Watercolor Paper (smooth side) was perfect and I was so pleased to know this worked as it opens up a heap of possibilities. All the images were coloured with Zigs and the sea floor as well. The water was coloured with a combination of 3 distress inks. The masking easily removed from the bubbles (phew!) & then I lightly coloured before adding Glossy Accents. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set.

I thought I'd enter this into Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 363 - Under the Sea

Party Animal

Hello

You may have noticed that most of my cards are usually floral images. I'm crazy addicted to flowers & don't often think about using anything else. So I've decided to try a little harder to utilise what non floral images I have.
Since I haven't used this stamp set from Avery Elle in ages I came up with this card for CASology Week 200

The animal balloons were stamped with Hero Arts Neon Pink & Blue & die-cut. I used Mama Elephant confetti die to cut stars from white glitter paper as I just didn't want to fuss with glitter using the star stamps from the Avery Elle set. Laziness won over lol. As always it is hard to see just how pretty the glitter paper really is.

Thanks

Have been on a little break as we flew our eldest daughter up for her birthday on the weekend. It was the first time we have had her home for her birthday in a couple of years so card making definitely wasn't a priority.
Today I am sharing a card I made for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 362

I found these colours tricky to work with as I'm not big on using purple especially in this combination but this is what I came up with -

I like pink & yellow together and purple & yellow but not all three so it threw me a bit.
I used Altenew Peony Bouquet as well as Altenew inks & kept to one layer using masking. The sentiment was cut on the Silhouette & is from Miss Kate Cuttables.
I am also entering into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
