Special Day

Hello

I made this card a while ago with a favourite Penny Black stamp.

Love the simplicity of this card as the gorgeous flower speaks for itself. I used Spun Sugar & Victorian Velvet distress markers to colour the flower & peeled paint distress marker for the leaves. Then I lightly spritzed the stamp with water before stamping.  A quick layer, white & silver twine, a sentiment, some bling and it's all done.

I am entering this in CASology Week 138 - Blossom

Thanks for visiting.

Congratulations

I made this card today for Altenew's March Challenge - From Places Abroad

and Virginia's View Challenge # 13 All Things Embossed

I love my Altenew stamps and use them all the time. They have some of the most gorgeous floral images. This was made with a kraft base card and was stamped with Peony Scrolls, embossed with Zing Gold embossing powder and then coloured with a Spectrum Noir white pencil. The sentiment is from Altenew's Persian Motifs set and was embossed in white on vellum with 3 tiny off-white pearls added for embellishment.

Thanks for visiting.

Supplies -
Stamps - Altenew Peony Scrolls & Persian Motifs
Ink - Versamark

Thinking of You

Hello

Todays card was one of those 'lets start & see where we end up' type projects! You know, when you have something in mind but end up with something completely different lol!

I started by applying distress inks softly to some Specialty Stamping Paper. Next I placed a Prima stencil over the top and lightly spritzed and then dabbed paper towel through the stencil to remove colour. You can just see in the photo the lighter small flowers in the background. Then I used a music background stamp that I've had forever, stamped with Versamark and sprinkled Wow White Pearl embossing powder. This powder is a lot softer than normal white and has subtle pearly sheen.

The bird was stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with Peerless Watercolours then fussy cut. The flowers are a 3 step stamp from the gorgeous new Altenew Vintage Flowers set. This set is amazing and I can see myself using it so much. Such pretty flower combinations. The flowers were stamped using Archival inks and some Star Dust Stickles was applied to the centres. More fussy cutting but thankfully the branch was a die-cut.

Pretty Petals

Hello

Had a an order of gorgeous new stamps from Penny Black arrive so thought I would have a little play!

The lovely flowers are from Penny Black Pretty Petals & the butterfly is from a WPlus9 set. i stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black and then coloured the flowers & butterfly with Inktense pencils and a water brush. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set. I added a touch of Star Dust Stickles to the centre of each flower for a subtle bit of sparkle. It's a little easier to see in the close up.

Christmas sparkle

Hello

In keeping with my goal to regularly make Christmas cards throughout the year instead of the usual last minute panic, I made this sparkly number for the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge # 5

It must be nearly 10 years since I pulled out my glitter stash lol! This card needed something more than just a touch of stickles so I dusted off some gold holographic glitter for some subtle pizazz. I love this evergreen tree from Papertrey Ink. This is a 3 part stamp so I chose Memento Love Letter for the ornaments and Bamboo Leaves for the tree. The gold sparkles around the tree were stamped with Versamark and sprinkled with Stampendous Stamp 'n Bond which then gets heat set just like embossing powder. The Stamp 'n Bond dries clear but very sticky and has a much stronger hold than a glue pad so shedding of the glitter is less likely. Once heat set I sprinkled with the Holographic Gold glitter and pressed firmly to set and then dusted off any excess. Ornaments were finished with Ranger Xmas Red Stickles. Star and tree base were stamped with Delicata Golden Glitz ink, then Icicle Stickles was applied to the star.
The hardest part was trying to photograph to capture the pretty sparkle of the Holographic Gold glitter, subtle but so much prettier than plain gold. Not sure I managed it but here's a close-up which might give a better idea.

Thanks for visiting.

Pretty Peonies

Hello

I made this quick & easy card for the WPlus9 Thursday Throwback Challenge.

I took my inspiration from the colours Maureen used in her beautiful sample cards for the challenge.
I love the WPlus9 pretty Peonies stamp set and how you have several different options for stamping the flowers. I chose the base image & detail image but left out the outline as I love the softer look this gives to the flowers and leaves. The sentiment was die cut from WPlus9 Hand-lettered Hello.
I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday Challenge

Thanks for visiting

Supplies -
Stamps - WPlus9 Pretty Peonies
Die - WPlus9 Hand Lettered Hello
Inks - MFT Berrylicious, Blu Raspberry & Lemon Drop, Memento Tangelo, Lady Bug & Pistachio.

Back from a break

Hello
After a little break due to ill health, final touches to a renovation and a visit from our daughter, it has been a bit hard to find the creative urge again!
I made this card for the Hero Arts Nature Challenge using one of my favourite Hero Arts stamps Flowers on a Stem.

I inked the flowers with distress markers, spritzed lightly before stamping twice from each inking. I love the softer 2nd generation image. I could have played with that a bit more with some ink on a brush but decided to leave as is. The butterfly is made from paper clay and a silicone mould that I have had for a while but not used before.

Stamps - Hero Arts H5935 Flowers on a Stem, Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold & You
