Pattern on pattern emboss resist

Hello

This is a homework piece from day 2 of Watercolour Intermediate. As you can see I'm way behind still with my homework samples but with good reason. We have just had the most awful week of hot weather with temperatures ranging from 33 - 37 degrees celsius & so still and humid. We don't have air con but rely on ceiling fans & good air flow (open windows) which is normally enough. With the extreme heat & the fans on full speed I found that I wasn't able to keep my watercolour paper wet enough & had to give up all hope of continuing with class homework pieces. Yesterday was probably the first bit of relief we've had with temps down about 5 degrees.
Today's card was a class technique by the wonderful Laura Bassen.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. Hard to think of you sweltering in high temperatures while we're still in the midst of winter and its unpredictable nature. Right now: gusty, windy, snowing...yet the forecast for Tuesday is for 15C! One of the common phrases we hear: if you don't like the weather in Alberta, just wait 5 minutes. So true! Despite the heat issues, you've created a marvelous rainbow emboss-resist card! Again, a perfect backdrop for your sweet sentiment...

  2. Wow, Rose, this is my favorite from all the homework I've seen around Blogland for this class! You have rocked the essence of The Laura! I'm pinning this pretty! I hope it cools off for you soon. I can't take heat and humidity any more, so I really feel for you! Hugs, Darnell
