Butterflies

Hello

This card was made with a butterfly from a Stampendous set that I had yet to use.

I stamped the butterfly with Salty Ocean Distress ink on Ranger Watercolour paper. On the first butterfly I then painted in the white areas with Mustard Seed Distress ink with a fairly wet brush so the blue & yellow would bleed together to bring in some green. The second butterfly was coloured with Picked Raspberry to bring in a slight purple tone. Black Soot was added to the body of the butterfly so it would stand out more. I used to do this technique years ago before we had distress inks. I would use Ranger Adirondack inks and had a favourite Penny Black butterfly that I would always use with a water brush. It's so much easier & far more effective with the distress inks not to mention the gorgeous colours we now have.
You have the option to paint with a fairly wet brush to really bleed the inks or less water to maintain more of the stamped detail. Either way looks good. The die cut sentiment was cut twice and stacked before adhering. The edge of the base card was stamped with SSS Diagonal stripes before adhering the watercolour panel and then added a few coloured iridescent sequins to match.
I am entering this into the following challenges -

The Card Concept # 37 - The Butterfly Effect
I'm going Clean & Graphic.
