This next card is being entered in Runway Inspired Challenge # 86
My inspiration came from the teal, purple & gold colours in the outfit. Yeah, I know the stripes in my card are going the wrong way but it's all in the interpretation lol!
I used watercolour paper & Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours for the washed stripes. Then I dropped Prima Color Bloom Gold Foil spray randomly over the card. Dropping it gave me more control than light spritzing as I didn't want a lot so less likely to stuff it up! Using one of the stars from Winnie & Walter's Sparkle stamp set I randomly stamped between some of the gold dots with Tsukineko Delicata Golden Glitz. On black card I gold embossed a background pattern and then die-cut 'wishing'. I cut it twice more from plain black & stacked for dimension. Finished with the gold embossed sentiment on black mounted with foam tape.
Thanks for visiting.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous watercolour stripes, Rose ... the bold black against all those yummy shades is fabulous! I've been wandering around after a recommendation from Bev, my sweet friend over at Happy Dance ... love what I'm seeing, you have a fabulous style! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteLove seeing how you were inspired...awesome colors! I just picked up the Kuretake Gansai Tambi yesterday and can't wait to play...thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYour stripes are in the right direction as far as I'm concerned, Rose! Gorgeous and innovative translation of the inspiration outfit. Once more: WOW!

Hey Rose! Bev from 'Happy Dance" told me all about your beautiful work! She is right! Your work is amazing! I'm totally in awe of your coloring and shading. I bet you earned tons of gold stars for your coloring when you were in grade school.
ReplyDeleteI've signed up to follow your blog and am looking forward to many visits back! Happy crafting :)
I like the gold drops. The spraying method is too 'all over the place' for me, so when I use my gold spray, I tend to do drops as well. The watercoloring makes a lovely backdrop for your sentiment too. The purples are colors I rarely use, and am liking them very much on your card. Really fun! Bev
ReplyDeleteA really lovely view of the inspiration, Rose. I'm loving a little visit by your blog!
